Phillippe Presents – September 2017

PAC

Welcome to the Phillippe Presents, a newsletter from Indiana Wesleyan University news and notes on Phillippe Performing Arts Center events.

From the Director’s Desk:
Anyone who knows me knows that I love this time of year. As the campus comes alive once again with the arrival of students, this is a time of new beginnings and great things to look forward too.

The theme of new beginnings is even more significant this year as we have many exciting things to celebrate.

First, we are excited to officially welcome Kyle Huber (no relation) to our Sound, Lighting & Media Group team as our permanent part-time Lead Technician. Kyle has been with the SL&M family for many years, first as a student, then as a temporary Lead Technician and now as a permanent fixture to the team.

Phillippe Presents September 2017_Page_2_Image_0007Second, we are excited to add twelve new student members of the SL&M team. Over the past three weeks, they have been training and preparing themselves to serve in amazing ways this upcoming year.

Finally, we are excited to unveil our newly remodeled Box Office.Phillippe Presents September 2017_Page_2_Image_0006 The doors will open on Tuesday, September 5th and we can’t wait to share our new and improved Box Office with you as we dedicate ourselves to providing even greater levels of care to our clients and guests.

This is truly an exciting time. Come join us and share in the excitement.

– Phil Huber Director

Some of the exciting events coming up include a complete schedule to the “You’re A Good Man, Charlie Brown” performance. Some shows are over Homecoming – Oct. 5th and 7th.

Phillippe Presents, August, 2017 | From the Director’s Desk:

The Greek philosopher Heraclitus once said, “There is nothing permanent except change.” He couldn’t have been more right.

This summer has seen many changes for our team in the PPAC. We have said goodbye to colleagues who answered God’s call to new ministry opportunities. We have welcomed new colleagues whom God has prepared with the tools needed to help our team move forward. Our Box Office has experienced an amazing metamorphosis and looks nothing like the ticketing home we had occupied for the past twenty years (more about this in next month’s edition). And we now find ourselves changing our focus and attention from the very busy summer conference season to the upcoming academic year.

Change can be overwhelming, filled with anxiety over the uncertainty that change might initiate. But with God in control, we can look to the changes in our path with a feeling of excitement for the great works that He has for us to perform. We celebrate this change and ask that you join us this upcoming academic year to celebrate with us the exciting things taking place in the Phillippe Performing Arts Center. – Phil Huber, Director

Homecoming 2017 – Class Reunions

HC17 Logo

I lchurch matching articleove seeing Facebook status updates that include IWU!  As alumni visit campus or share college day memories with former classmates, it is always filled with experiences that are fun and memorable. Pictures of former college days with groups of friends are unique to those experiences.

Remember when you were a student? Although the campus may look different, the same Christ-centered education you were blessed with is continuing to touch student lives.

We want to help you relive those memories as you oncJWADMINe again walk the campus (though you may need a campus tour today since the landscape has changes). The positive experiences you share are often the positive stories students share today; stories about residential living, life changing chapels, and faculty. The McConn for many is central to those experiences yet we all share the wonderful relationships we gained through our college years.

We also want to remind you during Homecoming 2017, that students today, like yourself, need financial assistance. Through the IWU Support Our Students (S.O.S.) Scholarship Fund, your gift will help a student overcome financial challenges and receive the blessing of an IWU education. Please visit indwes.edu/reunions to make your gift today. Our students are counting on you!
