Orthopedic Medicine: Landon Ortiz

By: Dezaray Barr

Landon Ortiz is currently spending time in the orthopedic medical device industry helping create and take to market revolutionary products that help restore mobility for people across the globe.

Ortiz graduated from Indiana Wesleyan University in 2012 with a degree in biology. “My time at IWU was exactly what I was looking for. It was a healthy challenge both academically and spiritually. I was pushed to think differently, to understand there are many different ways to solve the problems,” Ortiz said. “Christ was always the center of our education, and I appreciated that.”

Although Ortiz had many college options, he felt that IWU had the most balance. “I felt like IWU understood what it meant to work hard and serve the Lord at the same time,” he said. “To be the best professional I could be, I needed to be the best servant first.”

Ortiz’s time at IWU really shaped the way that he interacts with the everyone he encounters. “Because of the connections that I made at IWU and the life lessons that I learned there, I have been able to travel the world and work for world leading organizations,” he said.

Ortiz has eight industry awards and has worked for three multi-million dollar companies. In the last year, he has traveled to almost all 50 states for work, and he has trained thousands of doctors. “I have seen the Lord do some crazy things during international missions work,” he shared.
