Sen. Dan Coats answers questions from students and audience members

This afternoon, Indiana Wesleyan University had the honor of welcoming United States Senator Dan Coats (R-IN) on the Marion residential campus. Coats has served Indiana and his country in the private and public sectors, always looking out for the peoples’ best interests. He sticks to his word and is a great man of character. Learn more about Senator Dan Coats from his website: www.coats.senate.gov. There have been a few Indiana Wesleyan alumni that have had the opportunity to serve with Coats. Stephanie Foley- Eastman graduated in 2010 and has this to say about her time working with Coats:

My husband and I moved out to D.C. in February of 2011 right after he [Senator Coats] was elected. I started as a Staff Assistant and greeted constituents, answered phones and gave Capitol tours. After about 6 months I was promoted to being the Senator’s scheduler. Here I handled his daily schedule of meetings, hearings, votes and other events as well as organizing the meetings for staff. During this time I got to know the Senator and he is an incredible man and public servant. He and his wife, Marsha, are truly an inspiration. It will be a sad day when he is no longer in Washington. I am so thankful for my time there and all that I learned and saw.

Thank you, Senator Coats for your service as a U.S. Senator and for giving our alumni and current students amazing opportunities!
