Story shared at his funeral.
Following his death, his wife went out to get a few grocery items and run errands in preparation for the funeral. When she returned she found a bouquet of flowers/planter at her door step. She thought, how sweet, someone from the neighborhood left them for her in condolence.
When she took them inside she discovered a card attached to the flower/planter.
It read: “To my loving wife. I may not be here when you get these but know that my love for you endures forever.” HERB had ordered them when he was taken to the hospital. He had presence of mind to think of his wife even when he was nearing his dying hour!
